Germanium fuzz built on a classic 1966 circuit known as the Distortion-Booster, later adopted as Fuzz.

The circuit uses germanium transistors that were commonly produced during those years. The '66 Trip is modified for use with modern pickups and offers Bias and Volume control.

The Bias function has two usage options: in the far left position, the sound is more compressed, and turning it to the right opens it up. Bias also affects the sound when the battery voltage drops, allowing you to adjust the resulting sound within reasonable limits as if using a fully charged battery. The sound can also be significantly influenced by the Volume on the guitar. Like classic fuzz pedals, the '66 Trip must always be the first pedal in the pedalboard chain.

Batteries - It is generally not recommended to use alkaline batteries with fuzz pedals, but rather traditional ones. The sound may slightly differ when powered by an adapter vs. battery (guitarists feel the sound is better with a battery). In our tests, we noted only minimal differences in sound. Our recommendation: use batteries in the studio and a power supply for concerts.
