Schaller Oyster S/P - passive piezo pickup - 1 pc

The Schaller Oyster S/P is a passive piezo pickup for acoustic instruments designed for external installation (mounting on the top plate). It comes with a 3.2 m cable terminated with a standard 6.35 mm (1/4") jack plug for direct connection to an amplifier or combo.

This model (Single/Plug) focuses on simplicity and portability, as it does not require any modifications to the instrument (e.g. drilling a hole for an output socket).

• Pickup type: Piezo contact pickup (vibration pickup of the soundboard).
• Sound: Offers a natural, warm and full reproduction of the instrument’s sound, without active circuitry or preamps. The sound is the result of the interaction of the diaphragm, piezo element and special contact gel.
• Passive circuitry: No power supply required, such as a battery.
• Material and finish: Nickel. The weight of one “shell” is 12 grams.
• Mounting: Designed for quick and easy external mounting on the instrument’s top plate using the supplied double-sided adhesive films or removable adhesive pads that do not damage the instrument’s surface.
• Cable: Long 320 cm cable (3.2 metres) terminated with a high-quality 1/4" (6.35 mm) mono jack plug.
• Universal use: Suitable for guitars, bass guitars, ukuleles, mandolins and other acoustic string instruments.
• Installation and flexibility: The main advantage is easy and quick installation, allowing the user to experiment with different positions on the soundboard and find the so-called “sweet spot” (the optimal place for the best sound).
• Performance: Although passive, some users successfully use it directly into a mixing desk or combo with sufficient signal gain. For the best results, especially with longer cable runs or for shaping the sound, it is recommended to use an external preamp or DI box with a high input impedance.
