Stormy Bass Drive is the first Bass Overdrive pedal from EWS. It offers a wide range of gain settings, from clean boost to crunch sounds and massive distortion. The switch installed on the top of the pedal can set 3 types of EQ modes: Mid Boost, Normal, and Mid Cut. Mid Boost increases 6 dB around 750 Hz and Mid Cut decreases 6 dB around 400 Hz. Although it is an ultra-compact pedal, it can be powered by a 9VDC regulated adapter or battery. The power circuit includes a built-in DC-DC converter, converting the 9VDC input to 16VDC. Using 16VDC achieves a thick, full sound. When stepping on the pedal or changing the DIP switch settings, a "pop" may occur when engaging the pedal. This is not a device malfunction. Simply toggle the pedal on/off repeatedly to release the voltage and stabilize the pedal. When switching between 9VDC or 16VDC, turn off all power to the pedal to protect the internal electrical components.
