The Decimator design offers a new approach to monitoring the envelope of the input signal called Time Vector Processing. This new approach to controlling the expander allows the Decimator system to respond instantly to short staccato notes while providing very slow control over long sustained tones without distortion. This means that the Decimator noise reduction system is the most transparent and powerful noise reduction system available. The Decimator Pro Rack utilizes both dynamic filtering and downward expansion. The Time Vector Processing circuit controls the release response of both the downward expander and the dynamic filter.

The input of the Decimator Pro Rack is a balanced TRS ¼ inch jack to eliminate any noise in standard mode. Both channels can be used at reference levels of –10 or +4dBU. We have also designed the Decimator Pro Rack using high-quality studio voltage-controlled amplifiers for both the dynamic filter and downward expander. This provides a noise dynamic range greater than 118 dB, translating to the most transparent noise reduction system you have ever heard.

The Decimator Pro Rack is extremely easy to use; simply place the Decimator at the end of your signal chain or insert the Decimator Pro Rack into your amplifier's effects loop to eliminate noise present at the amplifier's input and also noise in the amplifier's preamp.
